ProCureWorks brings together school districts and hospitals to make nutritious and delicious food available to all by leveraging institutional buying power in a multi-sector initiative. To increase equitable access to healthy food in California, School Food Focus and Health Care Without Harm (HCWH) have engaged five districts and eight health care systems at the intersection of food service and the food industry. Even the largest school districts and hospitals in the country alone are no match for massive food corporations. ProCureWorks creates a level playing field where the demand for healthy food products can be heard. Presenters will illustrate the value and impact this collaboration has on their food service operations. ProCureWorks staff will discuss multi-sector collaborations that can identify and pursue a range of procurement scenarios.
